PowerFlex® 700 AC Drives are available in a wide range of horsepower ratings. These drives control three-phase induction motors in applications with requirements ranging from the simplest speed control to the most demanding torque control. The PowerFlex 700 AC drive offers application-specific features and parameters for lifting, oil wells, and speed and positioning applications. Available packaged drives provide additional control, power, and enclosure options in standardized designs. The PowerFlex 700 Fan and Pump packaged drive is a cost-effective solution for speed control in variable torque fan and pump applications.
Error codes
Fault : Auxiliary Input
Description : Auxiliary input interlock is open.
Action : Check remote wiring.
Fault : Cntl Bd Overtemp
Description : The temperature sensor on the Main Control Board detected excessive heat.
Action : 1. Check Main Control Board fan.
2. Check surrounding air temperature.
3. Verify proper mounting/cooling.
Fault : Drive OverLoad
Description : Drive rating of 110% for 1 minute or 150% for 3 seconds has been exceeded
Action : Reduce load or extend Accel Time.
Fault : Excessive Load
Description : Motor did not come up to speed in the allotted time during autotune
Action : 1. Uncouple load from motor.
2. Repeat Autotune.
Fault : Encoder Loss
Description : Requires differential encoder. One of the two encoder channel signals is missing.
Action : 1. Check Wiring.
2. Check motor rotation.
3. Check encoder pulses, rotation, etc.
4. Replace encoder
Fault : Fatal Faults
Description : Diagnostic code indicating a drive malfunction.
Action : 1. Cycle power.
2. Replace Main Control Board.
3. Contact Tech Support.
Fault : Ground Fault
Description : A current path to earth ground greater than 25% of drive rating.
Action : Check the motor and external wiring to the drive output terminals for a grounded condition.
Fault : Heatsink LowTemp
Description : Annunciates a too low temperature case or an open NTC (heatsink temperature sensing device) circuit.
Action : 1. Verify ambient temperature.
2. In cold ambient temperatures, add space heaters
Fault : Heatsink OvrTemp
Description : Heatsink temperature exceeds 100% of [Drive Temp] or is less than approximately -19 °C.
Action : 1. Verify that maximum ambient temperature has not been exceeded.
2. Check fan.
3. Check for excess load.
4. In cold ambient temperatures, add space heaters.
Fault : Input Phase Loss
Description : The DC bus ripple has exceeded a preset level.
Action : Check incoming power for a missing phase/blown fuse.
Fault : Load Loss
Description : Drive output torque current is below [Load Loss Level] for a time period greater than [Load Loss time].
Action : 1. Verify connections between motor and load.
2. Verify level and time requirements.
Fault : Motor Overload
Description : Internal electronic overload trip. Enable/Disable with [Fault Config 1]
Action : An excessive motor load exists. Reduce load so drive output current does not exceed the current set by [Motor NP FLA].
Fault : Motor Thermistor
Description : Thermistor output is out of range.
Action : 1. Verify that thermistor is connected.
2. Motor is overheated. Reduce load.
Fault : Output PhaseLoss
Description : Current in one or more phases has been lost or remains below a preset level.
Action : Check the drive and motor wiring. Check for phase-to-phase continuity at the motor terminals. Check for disconnected motor leads.
Fault : OverVoltage
Description : DC bus voltage exceeded maximum value.
Action : Monitor the AC line for high line voltage or transient conditions. Bus overvoltage can also be caused by motor regeneration. Extend the decel time or install dynamic brake option.
Fault : Power Loss
Description : DC bus voltage remained below 85% of nominal for longer than [Power Loss Time]. Enable/Disable with [Fault Config 1]
Action : Monitor the incoming AC line for low voltage or line power interruption.
Fault : Trnsistr OvrTemp
Description : Output transistors have exceeded their maximum operating temperature.
Action : 1. Verify that maximum ambient temperature has not been exceeded.
2. Check fan.
3. Check for excess load.
Fault : UnderVoltage
Description : DC bus voltage fell below the minimum value of 407V DC at 400/480V input or 204V DC at 200/240V input. Enable/ Disable with [Fault Config 1]
Action : Monitor the incoming AC line for low voltage or power interruption.
Alarm descriptions
Alarm : Drive OL Level 1
Description : The calculated IGBT temperature requires a reduction in PWM frequency. If [Drive OL Mode] is disabled and the load is not reduced, an overload fault will eventually occur.
Alarm : Drive OL Level 2
Description : The calculated IGBT temperature requires a reduction in Current Limit. If [Drive OL Mode] is disabled and the load is not reduced, an overload fault will eventually occur.
Alarm : Ground Warn
Description : Ground current has exceeded the level set in [Gnd Warn Level].
Alarm : In Phase Loss
Description : The DC bus ripple has exceeded a preset level.
Alarm : Load Loss
Description : Output torque current is below [Load Loss Level] for a time period greater than [Load Loss time].
Alarm : Motor Thermistor
Description : The value at the thermistor terminals has been exceeded.
Alarm : Power Loss
Description : Drive has sensed a power line loss.
Alarm : Start At PowerUp
Description : [Start At PowerUp] is enabled. Drive can start at any time within 10 seconds of drive powerup.
